We had California Kids Fun come to our school and perform for 60 TK (Transitional Kindergarten) students. The performer was fabulous and really understood the sense of humor of 4 and 5 year olds. There was so much laughter and joy during the performance. Kids were engaged and eager to see what would happen next. One of the unique aspects of the show was the ability for the students to interact with the puppets by coming up and touching them and the puppet would engage with them in a silly manner. The students were enthralled. We look forward to having them come back and perform for our school next year.

What exactly happens during your preschool puppet show?

Our show is a 30–35 minute live performance designed specifically for ages 2–5. It includes

Age Groups & Group Size

What ages are your preschool shows designed for?

Our preschool show is purpose-built for ages 2–5, including:
  • Toddlers (ages 2–3): Very visual, short attention span format, gentle and calm pacing
  • Preschool (ages 3–4): Interactive storytelling, simple participation, soft humor
  • Pre-K / TK (ages 4–5): More engagement, gentle magic, character-based comedy
Mixed-age groups across 2–5 are common and work beautifully.

How many children can attend at once?

  • Small groups: 10–30 children (single classroom or small gathering)
  • Medium groups: 30–75 children (multi-classroom or center-wide event)
  • Large groups: 75–150+ children (full center assembly)

Can you do separate shows for different classrooms in one visit?

Yes! this is one of our most popular preschool formats. Back-to-back classroom shows let you serve infants/toddlers and pre-K separately with age-appropriate content in a single visit. You save $50 per program when booking multiple shows on the same day.

Do you accommodate children with special needs or sensory sensitivities?

Absolutely! Our performers are experienced with sensory-sensitive little ones. We keep volume at a comfortable level, avoid sudden loud sounds, use gentle invitations for participation, and never put a child on the spot. Please let us know any specific needs at booking and we'll plan accordingly.

Scheduling & Booking

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend 3–6 weeks ahead, especially around the holidays, end-of-year celebrations, and spring events. Last-minute availability does come up — call or text (925) 605-4655 and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

What days and times are you available?

    Monday through Saturday, during your center's regular program hours. Morning slots (9:00–11:30 AM) tend to work best for preschoolers when energy and attention are at their peak. We work around your daily schedule including snack time, nap schedules, and parent pickup windows.

How do we book?

Is a deposit required to book?

    No Deposit Required:  We do not require a deposit to book your preschool party. No upfront payment needed.
Space & Setup Requirements

What space do you need inside our preschool?

Very minimal! we work with whatever space you have:
  • Performance area: 8×8 feet minimum (classroom, multipurpose room, or outdoor covered area)
  • Power: One standard electrical outlet
  • Setup time: 15 minutes before the show
We've performed in tiny classrooms and large gymnasiums! we adapt to your space every time.

Do you need any special equipment or a stage?

No stage or special equipment needed. We bring everything! our backdrop, handmade puppets, props, and sound setup. All we need from you is the space and one outlet.

Can you perform outdoors?

Yes! We regularly perform at outdoor playground events, covered patios, and open-air celebrations. We ask for a shaded area and a weather backup plan. Just mention it at booking and we'll come prepared.

Safety & Child Protection

Are your performers background-checked?

Yes! Every California Kids Fun performer is background-checked and the company carries full professional liability insurance. We provide certificates of insurance upon request! many childcare centers and licensing agencies require these, and we have them ready to go.

Do your performers follow childcare center visitor protocols?

Always! Our performers check in with your director or lead teacher upon arrival, follow your center's sign-in and visitor policies, and coordinate with your staff throughout the visit. Staff remain present with children at all times! we handle the entertainment, your team handles supervision.

Is the content safe and appropriate for very young children?

Absolutely! Our preschool puppet and magic show is specifically designed for ages 2–5. There is nothing scary, loud, startling, or inappropriate. Every character, joke, and magic trick is tested through the lens of "would this work for a 3-year-old?" Gentle, warm, and always kind.

Are your puppets and props safe for children to touch?

Yes! Our handmade puppets and props are built with young children in mind! no sharp edges, small parts, or choking hazards. During our interactive segments, children can gently touch and meet the puppet characters in a supervised, structured way.

What do your preschool programs cost?

  • Preschool Puppet & Magic Show: $285 (30–35 min, ages 2–5)
  • Preschool Puppet Show + Workshop: $395 (45 min, ages 3–5)
  • Back-to-Back Discount: Save $50 per show when booking multiple shows in one visit
  • Add-ons: Balloon Twisting · Dance Games (additional fee)

✈ No Travel Fee:  We do not charge a travel fee anywhere within the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento–Stockton–Modesto region. The quoted price is your final price.
📋 Cancellation Policy: Should you need to cancel your booking for any reason, simply contact us via phone or email and we will make the cancellation. Payments for canceled shows are fully refunded. As a courtesy, please give us enough time to reschedule your time slot when possible.

Do you support center-funded or grant-funded bookings?

Yes! We provide W-9 forms, formatted invoices, program descriptions for licensing or grant reporting, and letters of support for grant applications. Just let us know what your center's accounting or licensing requirements are.

Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?

Yes! We back every performance with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If our show doesn't delight your little ones and meet your expectations, we'll make it right.

Day-of Experience

What happens on the day of the show?

  • 15 min early: Performer arrives, checks in with your director, and sets up quickly
  • Pre-show: We confirm logistics with your lead teacher and get the space ready
  • Showtime: 30–35 minutes of gentle, joyful, interactive performance
  • Post-show: Full breakdown in 10 minutes! minimal disruption to your daily routine
  • Follow-up: We check in after the event and welcome any feedback

How should teachers prepare the children?

No preparation needed from children. A quick mention to the class that a special visitor is coming can build excitement, but we engage little ones from the moment we arrive. Teachers are welcome to sit with their class and participate! many end up laughing right along with the kids!

Should children eat before or after the show?

We recommend scheduling the show before snack time rather than after! children are more focused and less messy when they haven't just eaten! We also ask that food and drinks are put away during the performance to keep the experience clean and focused for little hands.

What if something unexpected comes up on show day?

We contact you immediately and work toward a solution right away! whether that means rescheduling at no charge or sending an alternate performer. After 26+ years and 10,000+ shows, showing up reliably for preschools is something we take very personally.
