We had California Kids Fun come to our school and perform for 60 TK (Transitional Kindergarten) students. The performer was fabulous and really understood the sense of humor of 4 and 5 year olds. There was so much laughter and joy during the performance. Kids were engaged and eager to see what would happen next. One of the unique aspects of the show was the ability for the students to interact with the puppets by coming up and touching them and the puppet would engage with them in a silly manner. The students were enthralled. We look forward to having them come back and perform for our school next year.

Looking for quick info on booking, party prep, or what to expect on your big day? You’re in the right place! Our FAQ section covers everything you need to know for a smooth and magical California Kids Fun experience.

Scheduling & Availability

How far in advance should we book?

    We recommend 3–6 weeks ahead, especially around literacy weeks, Read Across America, end-of-year events, and school breaks. Last-minute availability does come up — text us at (925) 605-4655 and we'll do our best.

What days and times are you available?

Monday–Saturday, including after-school hours (typically 2:30–6:00 PM). We work around your program's existing schedule, including snack breaks.

Can you do multiple shows in one visit?

Yes! and we encourage it! Back-to-back shows for different grade levels or age groups are our most cost-effective option. You save $50 per program when booking both packages in a single visit.

How long are the programs?

  • Puppetry Workshop: 35–45 minutes (Pre-K–5)
  • Educational Puppet & Magic Show: 45 minutes (Ages 2–10)
Add-ons like Balloon Twisting or Dance Games extend the experience by 1 hour.

Age Groups & Group Size

What ages do you serve?

  • Puppetry Workshop: Pre-K through Grade 5 (ages 3–10)
  • Educational Puppet & Magic Show: Ages 2–10, including mixed-age groups
Both programs are developmentally adapted! pacing, vocabulary, and participation style shift based on your audience.

What group sizes can you handle?

  • Small groups: 10–30 students (ideal for club or classroom settings)
  • Medium groups: 30–75 students (standard after-school programs)
  • Large groups: 75–300+ students (gym or multipurpose room format)

Can you accommodate students with special needs?

Absolutely. Inclusion is a core value. Our performers adapt pacing and volume for sensory needs, use gentle invitations for shy students, and never put anyone on the spot. Let us know specific needs at booking and we'll plan accordingly.

Space, Setup & Logistics

What space do you need?

  • 12×12 ft performance area (multipurpose rooms, gyms, cafeterias, or covered outdoor areas)
  • One standard electrical outlet
  • 15–20 minutes for setup before showtime

Do you perform outdoors?

    Yes. We regularly perform at schoolyard events and covered outdoor areas. We ask for shade and a weather backup plan. Just flag it at booking and we'll prepare accordingly.

How much time do you need for setup and breakdown?

Setup: 15–20 minutes (we arrive early). Breakdown: 10–15 minutes after the show. Minimal disruption to your program schedule.

Yes! The Educational Puppet & Magic Show lets you pick your educational theme: Literacy & Reading, STEM, Health, Environmental topics, and more. Standard thematic customization is included at no extra charge! just share your focus when booking.

Do you offer pre- or post-show materials?

We can provide discussion questions and simple activity suggestions to extend the learning. Not required! our shows stand alone — but available on request.

Safety & Professional Standards

Are your performers background-checked?

Yes. All performers are background-checked and covered by full professional liability insurance. Certificates of insurance are available upon request! we handle district vendor paperwork regularly.

Do your performers work with school staff?

Always. Our performers check in with your site coordinator on arrival, follow your visitor policies, and coordinate with supervising staff throughout. Your staff remain in charge of student supervision at all times.

Is the content appropriate for all students?

Yes! Every program is family-friendly, age-appropriate, and free of anything that could exclude or embarrass students. Our comedy is kind! never mean-spirited. We are especially mindful of cultural sensitivity and California's diverse communities.

Pricing, Discounts & Key Policies

What do the programs cost?

  • Puppetry Workshop: $395 (35–45 min, Pre-K–5)
  • Educational Puppet & Magic Show: $375 (45 min, Ages 2–10)
  • Back-to-Back Discount: Save $50 per program when booking both in one visit
Add-ons (Balloon Twisting, Dance Games) are available for an additional fee.
✈ No Travel Fee:  We do not charge a travel fee anywhere within the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento–Stockton–Modesto region. The quoted price is your final price.
📋 Cancellation Policy: Should you need to cancel your booking for any reason, simply contact us via phone or email and we will make the cancellation. Payments for canceled shows are fully refunded. As a courtesy, please give us enough time to reschedule your time slot when possible.

Do you offer discounts for multiple shows?

Yes! Back-to-back shows on the same visit save $50 per program. Repeat or multi-date bookings across the semester may qualify for additional savings! ask us about recurring program pricing.

Do you support grant or PTA-funded bookings?

Yes! We provide W-9 forms, formatted invoices, program descriptions for grant reporting, and letters of support for grant applications. Just let us know what your accounting or grant administrator needs.

How do we officially book?

  • 3. We confirm availability and send a booking agreement
  • 4. Once signed, your date is held! we follow up before the event to finalize details

Need a W-9 or vendor packet? Just ask and we'll include it with your confirmation.
Day-of Experience

What happens on the day of the show?

  • 15–20 min early: Performer arrives, checks in with your coordinator, and sets up
  • Showtime: Interactive, high-energy performance tailored to your audience
  • Post-show: Packed up within 10–15 minutes — minimal schedule disruption
  • Follow-up: We check in on your experience and welcome any feedback

Do students need to prepare anything?

Nothing required. A quick heads-up to students that something exciting is happening can boost energy, but we handle everything from there.

What if something unexpected comes up on the day of the show?

We contact you immediately and work toward a solution! rescheduling at no charge, sending an alternate performer, or another arrangement. After 26 years and 10,000+ shows, professional reliability is something we take very seriously.

Cancllation Policy

What is your cancellation policy?
